Chapter History
In 2007, a group of Charleston area songwriters began discussing the lack of a network for the wealth of talented songwriters in southern West Virginia. To fill this void, the group, led by musician and entertainment lawyer Kevin Levine, set out to form an NSAI regional chapter and the NSAI Charleston, WV Chapter met for the first time in May of 2008. In addition to fostering relationships among songwriters, the NSAI Charleston, WV Chapter carries out NSAI educational initiatives at the local level and provides a critical link to NSAI’s international headquarters in Nashville.
Chapter Meetings
Our chapter meets regularly on the last Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at the Kay Casto & Chaney PLLC Entertainment Law Group office in Charleston, West Virginia. Adopt-a-Shop Pro, Jeff Stevens
The NSAI Charleston, WV Chapter is one of a number of regional chapters to have an “Adopt-a-Shop Pro” songwriter associated with the chapter. Adopt-a-Shop Pros are professional songwriters who generously provide their time, talent, and experiences to their chapters. Our chapter is extremely fortunate to have Charleston native Jeff Stevens as its Adopt-a-Shop Pro. Jeff has enjoyed a long, successful musical career in Nashville as an artist, songwriter, and producer. Jeff’s number one and top ten songs include Carrying Your Love With Me (George Strait), Back When (Tim McGraw), Carried Away (George Strait), All My Friends Say (Luke Bryan), True (George Strait), Big Love (Tracy Byrd), and Reckless (Alabama). Jeff has also produced all of Luke Bryan’s (Capitol Nashville) albums.
